Low Cost Airlines in Europe

The airways deregulation in 1990s in Europe has paved way for many no-frills airlines to chip into the market share of the airline industry in Europe. Ticket prices of budget airlines within Europe start as cheap as 50 US dollars.
The low cost airline market has witnessed outstanding growth in the European market. The passenger capacity has increased over 14 percent in the last decade. Several bigger giants have also tried to explore this segment by introducing sister airlines that cater to the budget travellers. The easyJet is a British based airline that serves over 35 countries across the globe. However today it is one of the most successful business models and caters to the needs of millions of passengers across Europe. Passengers today review the Ryanair to be one of the best players in the low cost.
Norwegian Air
The airline market in Europe is very competitive and every one strives to be better than the other. As the name suggest, the Norwegian Air, is Norway's own and is Europe's third largest low cost carrier. It is also the most popular for domestic in the Scandinavian countries. Major European destinations served by the Norwegian are Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm. In 2013, It was announced as the "Best Low Cost Airline in Europe at the 2013 World Airline Awards.
Flybe
Flybe, based in Exeter is another English operator that dominates the low cost airline market. The operator's largest base is the Birmingham Airport and it is a public company listed on the London Stock Exchange. The airline is famous for its short haul flights to Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Continental Europe.
GermanWings
Lufthansa is popular for its service and hospitality through the world. German Wings is Lufthansa's own low cost airline that is based in Cologne. Apart from serving domestic locations, the airline is also a major carrier for Africa, Asia and all European countries.
